Our review of the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron
The Q6 Sportback e-tron is the Q6 e-tron with a sloping roofline and a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.26 — the same as the Audi e-tron GT. On a 100 kWh battery and 800V architecture, that aerodynamic gain translates into 505 km of real range in mixed use: the longest real-world range in the entire Audi EV line-up in 2024. The price is €77,400, or €2,500 more than the standard Q6 SUV. The question is the same as with the Q4 Sportback: is the coupé styling worth the slight loss of practicality?
Driving & comfort
On the motorway at 120 km/h, the Q6 Sportback is slightly quieter than the standard Q6 — a subtle but measurable difference. On-road behaviour is identical: effective adaptive suspension, precise steering for 2,280 kg. The interior is the same as the Q6 e-tron — same curved OLED screen, same build quality. The difference is in the back: the sloping roof cuts headroom by 20–25 mm, slightly penalising taller passengers. The boot loses 18 litres (511 L vs 529 L).
Daily charging
The PPE 800V architecture is identical to the standard Q6: 270 kW DC, 10 to 80% in 21 minutes on Ionity. The Sportback advantage is real here: thanks to the 0.26 Cd, motorway consumption is slightly lower (~17.5 kWh/100 km vs ~18.2 kWh), which stretches the interval between charges. At an Ionity 350 kW charger on the E40, the Q6 Sportback recovers about 135 km in 10 minutes. On an 11 kW wallbox, a full 100 kWh charge takes around 9h30.
Total cost of ownership
€77,400 versus €74,900 for the standard Q6: €2,500 for 24 km more of real range (505 vs 481 km) and the coupé styling. Over 5 years at 20,000 km/year, those extra 24 km amount to a handful of avoided charging stops — a marginal saving. The main premium is aesthetic. The 100% company deductibility applies identically in 2026.
- 505 km of real range: the longest real-world range in the entire Audi EV line-up — Brussels–Amsterdam (200 km) and back without charging
- 0.26 Cd: better aerodynamics = slightly lower motorway consumption than the Q6 SUV
- 270 kW DC, 800V PPE architecture: 10→80% charge in 21 min on Ionity — identical to the standard Q6
- Distinctive coupé styling in the premium electric SUV segment
- 511 L boot vs 529 L for the Q6 SUV: an 18-litre loss for a purely aesthetic gain
- Reduced rear headroom: passengers over 1.85 m feel slightly cramped
- €2,500 more than the standard Q6 for a 24 km range gain
- MMI Touch interface identical to the Q6: a 2-to-3-week learning curve
Our verdictThe Q6 Sportback e-tron offers the longest real-world range in the Audi range (505 km) and the same 800V charging as the Q6. If coupé-SUV styling is your preference and the slight loss of rear space is acceptable, the extra €2,500 is defensible. For families who need maximum boot space, the standard Q6 remains the rational choice.
A driver who values maximum range in the Audi range, likes coupé styling, and doesn't regularly need to carry 4 adults with their luggage.
A family of 4 with tall adults in the back, or anyone needing maximum boot space for fully loaded trips to the Ardennes.

Frequently asked questions — Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron
What is the real range of the Q6 Sportback e-tron?
The Q6 Sportback e-tron (Performance, RWD) is rated at 656 km WLTP. In real Belgian conditions — motorway at 120 km/h, 10°C, two adults — expect 490 to 520 km. That's 24 km more than the standard Q6 SUV (481 km real range) thanks to the 0.26 drag coefficient (Cd) versus ~0.28 for the SUV. In winter at 0°C on the motorway, it drops to 400–420 km. It's the highest real-world range in the Audi EV range in 2024.
What is the difference between the Q6 e-tron and the Q6 Sportback e-tron?
The Q6 Sportback stands out with its sloping roof (coupé silhouette) and 0.26 Cd versus ~0.28 for the SUV. That translates into 24 km of extra real range (505 km vs 481 km). The boot loses 18 litres (511 L vs 529 L), and rear headroom is slightly reduced. The price is €2,500 higher (€77,400 vs €74,900). All the charging tech (270 kW DC, 800V) is identical.
Can the Q6 Sportback e-tron do Brussels–Barcelona stress-free?
Yes, with standard planning. Brussels–Barcelona is about 1,550 km. With 505 km of real range in mixed conditions, you plan for 2 charging stops along the way — for example at the Bordeaux-Virsac (Ionity) and Girona (Ionity) service areas. Each 10-to-80% charge takes 21 minutes at an Ionity 350 kW charger. The total trip (breaks included) is about 2h30 longer than in a petrol car. With the Audi Connect app, available Ionity chargers are shown in real time.
Is the Q6 Sportback suitable for a Belgian family?
For two adults and two children, yes, no problem. The 511 L boot is enough for a weekend in the Ardennes. For 4 tall adults with luggage (skis included), the sloping roof slightly reduces comfort for taller passengers in the back. If you regularly carry 4 adults over 1.80 m, the standard Q6 SUV (529 L, flat roof) is a better fit — and €2,500 cheaper.
Q6 Sportback e-tron or Porsche Macan Electric: which should you choose?
Both share the PPE platform, the same charging capability (270 kW DC, 800V) and similar batteries (100 kWh). The Q6 Sportback offers more interior and boot space. The Macan Electric is sportier in its suspension tuning and road manners — enthusiasts perceive it as more dynamic. The Macan Electric is around 10 to 15% more expensive. If family space matters most, go for the Q6 Sportback. If you're after the most dynamic drive, the Macan Electric.
Does the Belgian tax deductibility apply to the Q6 Sportback e-tron for a company?
Yes. In 2026, all fully electric vehicles are 100% deductible for a Belgian company. The Q6 Sportback at €77,400 benefits from this full advantage. The BIK (benefit-in-kind, the Belgian 'ATN') for the user is calculated on the list price. From 2027, deductibility will start to taper off gradually under the tax reform in force.
